3 gallon grey salt-glazed stoneware jug w/single strap handle. Straight sided w/shoulders that curve toward the neck w/mouth 2 1/2" dia. Rough rim. Strap-handle attached at neck, looped in C-shape, & applied at shoulder. Side opposite handle is stenciled in blue, cobalt an oval design of leaves with "o 3 c" in the center. Brown stacking scar to the bottom right of the handle. Overall clay body has pit marks & scattered black fills from escape of lime and iron particles. Unglazed bottom. The stamp is attributed to Torbert & Baker.; Indiana Stoneware, Indianapolis Museum of Art, 1974, p. 43.
