Great satisfaction has so far been expressed asregards the use of the anchor joint plates; they give a much easierrunning joint than with the ordinary sole-plate. The paving consists mainly of 6 ins. x 3 ins. granite blocks, thegreater portion of which were obtained from the Leicestershirequarries, but Norway and Aberdeen granite blocks have alsobeen used.
