ly. Inthis test the highest schedule speed noted between any twopoints was slightly over 35 miles per hour, for a distanceof about 3 miles. In car test No. ,2, made on the samekind of car and over the same route as No. 10, curves aregiven similar to those in No. 10, and in addition are plottedthe readings of ammeter and voltmeter. As the data inconnection with both of these tests is incorporated on thecurve sheets, it will not be necessary here to recapitulatethose figures, but as going to show the probable accuracyof the results, attention may be called to the fact that theaverage power input, as taken from ihe readings of the re-cording wattmeter in test No. 12, is 34.9 kw. The powerinput, as figured from the ammeter and voltmeter readings(502 volts multiplied by 71 amps.), is 35.6 kw. The dif-ference between the results arrived at by the two separatemeans is therefore so close as to justify considerable conn- October 4, 1902.)
