Botliheaters are made by the Harrisburg Pipe and Pipe Bending Com-pany, of Harrisburg, Pa. As indicated by the accompanying viewof the feed water piping, a system of by-passing permits the useof either heater separately or both in combination, so that possibleinjury to any part of the feeding system would not affect the con-tinuous operation of the plant; and also in case of a failure of thetown water supply connection can immediately be had with the riv-er, which at that point in the Hudson contains on the average aboutseventy-five grains of salt per gallon.
