Our illusbration above is of the Shorthorn Bull, Pride of Tees, winner of First Prize for Shorbhorn Bulls overone and not exceeding two years old at the Yorkshire Show at Barnsley lasb week. It was exhibited byMr. G. Harrison, Gainford Hall, Darlington, but was bred by Mr. O. H. Joliflfe, Newbus Grange, Darlington,its sire being Primrose Pride and it3 dam Lady Augusta 2 id. Mr. R. Whitworths Hackneys. There was a large and representative gabhering0: Hackney breeders ab the sale of pedigree York-shire Hackneys belonging to Mr. R. Whitworth,a< bhe Londesborough Stud, Markeb Weighbon, onTuesday, and some good prices were realised.Mr. Whitworths stud is well known in all parts ofthe counbry for ibs high sbandard of excellence,and thus the opportunity bo obbain some of hischoice animals was eagerly baken by breeders inall parts. Fifty lots were disposed of, and includedmany animals either sired by or in foal to thechampion Polonious, whose progeny won bhirby-seven honours at the recent
