The Polo Pony Stallion Spanisa Hero was Champion at both the Royal Hhow at Lincoln and t_o Polo andBiding Pony Societys Show this year. It was foaled in )833, sii e Kilwarlin, dam Spanish Maiden, andwas bred by Mr. J. Cr. Mosenthal, but is the property of IVr. S. Mumford, Stud Farm, Moretoa Morrell,Warwick. that there is only one that has fulfilled the promisethey showed. One horse in particular I noticedand was disappointed with. He is a yearling,and is quite as big as he ought to bo at three yearsold. Another, a three-year-old, looked to be fully16 hands 1 in , and several three-year-olds I haveseen were over 16 hands. I was asked whether Idid not think 15 hands 3 in. the maximum heightfor a three-year-old, and I certainly think it quitehigh enough. One gentleman as we looked overa lot of two-year-olds made the remark that onecould pick a road team out from them, and withan exception, or perhaps two, a load teamwould have been easier selected than a Hunterfound.
