rman submarinemade its way up the Patapsco andstarted the bombardment of Baltimore?Not a bit of it! It was the Baltimoreand Ohio Trapshooting Club openingthe season of 1917. As they say in theofficial communiques, the losses of theenemy were heavy. When the settingsun gave the signal to cease firing thebattle ground was covered with thefragments of what had been perfectlygood clay pigeons. The Trapshooting Club is in a mostflourishing condition. New buildingshave been erected, the membership hasincreased and everything looks promisingfor a successful season. A big day isanticipated in the near future—ladiesday. The ladies may be able to shoot,but—well, the trenches of Flanders wouldbe a Safety First location comparedwith the immediate vicinity of the firingline on that particular afternoon. Weadvise the boys who pull the traps tostudy the most modern methods of con-structing bomb-proofs, dug outs andtrenches. If you like to shoot take a trip to Hale-thorpe some Saturday afternoon.
