Henri Fantin Latour - Vénus Anadyomène
Summary
She stands, front view, and her face slightly turns to the left. She raises and flutters her drapery with both hands. On the right there is a group of four little children, one of whom presents her with a mirror. Higher up, behind her, in the background, there is a flying figure of a veiled woman passing by. On the left, in the foreground is a sea nymph kneeling, seen from behind, and naked to the hips. She offers pearls in a shell. Another figure in the background, joins hands. A sea god in the shadow holds a conch. A cupid flies above, in the sky, with his bow in his hand.
