Photograph probably by G. H. Houghton, photographer of other photographs in this album and fellow resident of Mead's in Brattleboro, Vermont. Houghton worked as a photographer at Camp Griffin, Langley, Virginia, and in the Tidewater area of Virginia during the time that Larkin Goldsmith Mead spent there with the Army of the Potomac as an artist for Harper's Weekly and making topographical drawings for Brig. Gen. William F. Smith in 1861 and 1862.
