Summary

Trucks driven by local contractors arrive at a landfill with loads of trash and debris in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico, Oct. 12, 2017. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is working with local contractors to remove trash and debris that has been piling up throughout the city and transport it to the municipal landfill in Toa Baja. The contractors started working early in the morning and by mid-afternoon had collected and moved over 500 cubic yards of debris and garbage. The Department of Defense is working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the local government and other organizations to provide disaster relief in Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.
