The true Contrast (BM 1868,0808.4058)
Summary
Satire on the responses of Pitt and Fox to the parliamentary inquiry into the conduct of the Newcastle administration in regard to the war: Pitt is distressed by the king's refusal to allow him to form a ministry; Fox, on the other hand, is anxious that the inquiry may expose his corruption; he rests his elbow on books entitled "Machiavel" and "[Ro]bert [Walpole]'s State Tricks". 1757
