The floor framing of these cars is of steel construction, the sidesills being e.xtra heavy, consisting of a 5-16-in. vertical plate withangles at the top and bottom, the cross section of which gives theappearance of a large 1-heani. This side sill is designed in theform of a truss, which does away with the truss rods. The entirefloor framing is covered with ,vi6-in. steel plates to which thestringers for holding the floor are bolted.
