Steam Turbine Separator The separators of to-day—very different fromthose of the seventies—are marked demonstra-tions of perfection acquired by the applicationof the highest inventive and mechanical skillcombined with persistent effort. Laval sepa-rators for hand-power range in capacity from14 to 135 gal. per hour, and between these thereare seven gradations. Power machines runup in the Leviathan Turbine to 440 gal. perhour of milk from which cream is perfectlyseparated. Amongst salient and intrinsic advantageswhich accrue from the use of separators may bementioned, briefly, these: (1) That practicallyall the cream is extracted from milk, which isnot the case under any other method of separa-tion. (2) This cream may be obtained imme-diately after milk comes in from the cows, andbutter may be obtained, and, if need be, dis-tributed to customers, before milk or cream hashad time to get cold. (3) In this way perfectlyfresh butter is derived from perfectly freshcream, which in turn ha
