The Square Dancers - Homestead National Monument of America
Summary
There was little in the way of entertainment for the early pioneers. Those immigrants given to song and dancing, engineered in crude fashion to keep up their love for this sort of entertainment by sweeping off the sod in front of the sod house and then indulge in square dancing. This break of monotony was certainly needed.
