The Lunch Counter, Mojave National Preserve, 1922.

NPS Collection photo: The San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroads built this restaurant, simply called "Lunch Counter", for passengers and railroad staff in 1905 (before the Union Pacific Railroad acquired the line.) The lunch counter burned down in 1922.
