Streeton Sydney Harbour 1895

Arthur Streeton (1867-1943) was an Australian artist who is considered one of the leading figures of the Heidelberg School, a group of Australian Impressionist painters who worked in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Streeton's paintings often depicted the Australian landscape, particularly the bush and the coast, and he was known for his use of light and color to capture the unique qualities of the Australian environment. Some of his most famous works include "The Purple Noon's Transparent Might," "Fire's On," and "Golden Summer, Eaglemont." Streeton also played a significant role in the development of Australian art as a teacher and mentor to younger artists.
