March 31 (Julian) 1856 unpaid letter posted at St. Petersburg. Sender wrote lower corner left 'Porto', this is not restated later by handstamp. '1856 - St. PETERSBOURG - III 31' postmark applied. In same handwriting '110' lower corner right backside, expressing the 110 decimes (1.10 fr.) rate.
Dobin: 1.02 type 3.07. Transit postmark, used 1854-1859, Rarity 4.[1]
Red 'Aus Russland' postmark applied. Used as a German entry/transit mark abroad the Coeln-Verviers T.P.O.
