Summary
The 24 sheet wall map of London; extending from the New River Head, to Limehouse in the east, Walworth in the south, and Knightsbridge in the west; an ichnographical plan, with only the trees represented pictorially; decorations include rococo cartouche for the title, supported by reclining nude figures, surmounted by City arms; a dedication to Lord Mayor and Court of Aldermen in cartouche with putti symbolising commerce and trade; with decorative border; the 24 sheets together with a plan of the map bound in marbled paper boards with leather spine, the title lettered "Rocque Plan of London"; after Rocque. 1746
