Born in Ukraine to a poor family, Yefim Alekseevich Pridvorov (his original name) became involved in politics during his studies in Saint-Petersburg, in the revolutionary years around 1905. In the early 1910s, he began a private correspondence with Lenin and developed a friendship with him. A supporter of the Bolsheviks during the Revolution, he was a very popular writer who was strongly supported by the Soviet regime during the 1920-1930s. ..The Boris Souvarine Papers' collection holds another photo of Demian Bedny, with Anatoly Lunacharsky: "Portrait of Anatoly Lunacharsky and Demian Bedny (...)".. .The document is a photographic reproduction of the photo made by V.
