Marion Davies - American actress and film producer active during the silent and early sound film eras of the 1910s and 1920s. She was born in New York City in 1897 and began her acting career in Hollywood in the early 1910s. Movies: "Runaway Romany" (1917), "The Patsy" (1928), "Show People" (1928). She was a mistress of newspaper tycoon William Randolph Hearst, and her career was heavily promoted by Hearst's newspapers. She retired from acting in the 1930s and turned to philanthropy, supporting the Hearst Foundation.
