The Brussels landscape painter and textile artist Lucas Achtschellinck counts among the most important representatives of the heyday of Flemish baroque. Lucas Achtschellinck, also known as Lucas Achtschellinckx, was baptized in Brussels on 16 January, 1626. The young Lucas Achtschellinck (Lucas Achtschellinckx) began his training with Pieter van der Borcht in 1639, it is also likely that he received some education from Lodewijk De Vadder. Afterwards Lucas Achtschellinck (Lucas Achtschellinckx) presumably spent some time abroad, before he completed his master in Brussels in 1657.
