Carl Gerhard, director of Navy Band Northeast, introduces his musicians before leading the group in a medley of patriotic favorites outside the newly renovated Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in Manhattan. The Intrepid Museum officially reopened to the public Nov. 8 after a two-year bow-to-stern refurbishment of the famed aircraft carrier, which served in World War II, the Vietnam War and recovery of the astronauts from the Mercury and Gemini space missions.
