Summary
Henry Vincent writes to William Lloyd Garrison wishing him a Merry Christmas and telling him that his busy schedule has not caused him to "grow lazy, as I grow older." He discusses the 1876 presidential election and his alarm at "lawless conduct of the South", commenting that "the Reconstruction policy was premature." Vincent also discusses the "Eastern Question" in British politics.
