Summary
In this letter to Amos A. Phelps, George Jeffrey Tillotson writes about the creation of new shares in the Merchant's Bank and his option to purchase these new shares. He asks Phelps to make inquiries about the "prospects of t[he] Bank, its present amount of surplus &c & write me soon." He also asks Phelps whether he wishes to pay back any of his debt but Tillotson assures Phelps that he is "not anxious that you should, unless you altogether prefer it."
