Les quatre âges de la femme
Summary
This print represents four stages in the life of a woman. The first image stands for childhood, while the second image illustrates the life of a young unmarried person. In the third print, the woman appears as a mature person who is fashionably dressed and sure of herself. On the lst image, she is facing the back and we can guess that she is much older. Such types of prints, describing the various stages of life, were very common at the time.
