Arthur Henri Poole - July 2, 1925
Summary
Family group taken, we believe, at Killinane House, Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow. The photo was ordered by a Mr William Kelly, but whether or not these are members of the Kelly family is uncertain. See Killinane House on National Inventory of Architectural Heritage at BuildingsOfIrelandDOTie ( http://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=CW®no=10301604 ) ...Some years after we first posted this image, Bernard Healy ( /photos/bernardhealy/ ) undertook some research - which suggests that the Kelly family were cattle farmers and landowners. Two sons (William Kelly and John Kelly) seemed to run the family farm in Killinane (and possibly from Ballyteigelea in Borris some years earlier). The 1911 census return ( http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai001662359/ ) suggests that the lady of the house, who is almost certainly not pictured here, was a "good age" at the time of her passing in 1926.......Collection: Poole Photographic Collection ( http://catalogue.nli.ie/Collection/vtls000031416 ) ..Date: 2 July 1925..NLI Ref.: P_WP_3310 ( vtls000593900 )
