In Fagoting and Bruges

description

Summary

"The upper collar is a combination of braid, bias folds and lace stitchery. The Bruges stitch is used, both to connect the bias folds andto fill in the leaf centers. The edge of the collar is a braid, sewed on to the bias fold after the collar is completed. The lower collar is a combination of bias folds, linen lawn and fagoting. The bias fold is caught to the collar with fagoting. The French knots, set above the fagoting, are ornamental, and may be of white or of any color desired. The fagoting may be also of color. Silk or linen launders well, though linen retains its color longer."
