Head of a deity with four faces, sculpture collection Rijksmuseum
Summary
This head, which once had four faces, comes from the large Buddhist temple of Ta Prohm at Angkor. It perhaps represents Prajnaparamita, the Buddhist goddess of wisdom, rather than a male deity or bodhisattva. This is suggested by the female features on the three surviving faces.
