Summary
Front elevation of the Gambrill Mansion, one of the few full-scale Empire Style buildings. In 1873, Gambrill built the distinctive brick mansion on a hillside of the property separate from the mill. It is one of the largest single-family residences ever built in Frederick County. In 1995, it became the home of the NPS Historic Preservation Training Center.
