Embroidery- Tiraz, 10th–11th century (CH 18556747)
Summary
Ivory linen plain cloth ground (probably originally white) with inch high Arabic characters, embroidered with untwisted red silk in satin and chain stitch and reading "Patient, Benevolent", part of a sentence which repeats attributes of the Deity as in the Koran. Left selvage present.
