The new road traverses the rich farming section of east-ern. Ohio, touching a number of important shipping pointsand settlements from which is received such a volume of trafficas to augur well for the future of the system. Youngstown.the northern terminus of the line, has a population of about70,000. and in industrial operations is the most prosperouscity between Cleveland and Pittsburg. Eleven miles to the over Iublic thoroughfare, where paving betweiu tricks andone foot outside is a franchise requirement. For the rest ofthe distance the private right of way has a width of 50 feet.In its construction it was necessary to make a number ofcuts, the deepest being 16 feet, while the heaviest fill was 12feet.
