The Omaha Street Railway, after a thoroughinvestigation, decided to carry out the recommenda-tions of the bureau, and early this spring the systemwas put in operation in the Lake Street substation dis-trict. This substation is equipped with one 1000-kw.and three 750-kw. rotary converters. It was decided toutilize one of the 750-kw. rotaries as a negative ma-chine. The direct-current panel for this machine wasremoved from the other three rotary panels and placed Negative Bus
