Summary
Fourteenth table of the Conquest of Mexico, painted by the new Spanish artists Juan González and Miguel González. This series of tables made in 1698 represent the arrival of the Spanish captain Hernán Cortés into Mexico, from the sinking of his carracks in San Juan de Ulúa to the fall of the city of Tenochtitlan. This table represents the execution of the Mexica responsable for the death of Juan de Escalante, the human sacrifices in Mexico and Bartolomé de Olmedo talking to Moctezuma II.
