Summary
Each figure in this painting is under an elaborate arch with inscriptions in both Mongolian and Chinese. At the far right is an inscription in Chinese providing the title of the manuscript, Sutra of Ten-Thousand Buddha Names. At the far left is a Mongolian inscription. The piece is in a wood frame covered with brocade. The figures are Palden Lhamo (Shri Devi in Sanscrit, the protector goddess) in the center, flanked by (left to right): Goddess of Spring, Goddess of Autumn, Goddess of Summer, and Goddess of Winter.
