Album Page, Four Left Halves of Escutcheons, 1692–99 (CH 18429737-2)
Summary
Horizontal rectangle.
Recto: Four left halves of escutcheons decorated with scrolls, leaves and surmounted by crowns. One shows a half-female-half-lion, another a head over a crescent and spear-head.
Verso: Interlacing pattern of band-work, probably intended to be carried out in marble or wood flooring. The ground is indicated in shading, perhaps a suggestion for Suite XIV, plate 1.
One sheet of paper drawn on recto and verso, mounted onto an album page with window cutout to see verso.
