Summary
There are two small lugs on the upper part of the body.
Archaic or Classical
The alabastron is a pear-shaped or elongated cylindrical vessel with a rounded bottom. Unlike the rhyton, the alabastron can stand upright. Alabastrons were used to store aromatic substances and liquids, mostly by women. Men used aribastrons in similar cases.
