White, Clarendon, in the presence.of about 80 interested spectators. The.trial proved a great success, and the ma-.chine, which is made of wrought steel,.worked very simply by one man, and pulled.down three large trees, each about 60 ft..high, without the use of either axe or.spade to ease the roots, and those present.were surprised at the power of the ma-.chine. Mr. A. W. G.
