What was then the El Trovatore Court was built in 1939 by John F. Miller, who gained fame and fortune years before by building the first hotel in Las Vegas, Hotel Nevada, in 1906. Years later the failing motel was converted into apartments, only to be reopended and renovated as a motel again in 2011.
