This ponderous double-deck car and its as-sociate are in sharp contrast to the lighter recenttypes of trolley car and trailer, especially those of thesingle-deck type shown in the sample of car built for theBois de Boulogne. This heavy compressed air car is alsoin sharp contrast with the light open trolley car, of which aview is here shown, built by Miani Silvestri & Company,of Milan, which is brought to notice in the Italian sectionon the tracks at Vincennes, and which is characterized byconsiderable lightness and grace of design. This concernis well known as a builder of rolling stock in Italy, and itsname and material will be more or less familiar to readers ofthe Street Railway Journal. Another very interestingand handsome trolley car not included in the last batchsent of foreign exhibits at Vincennes is that shown in theAustrian section by F. Ringhoffer, of Prague, with a bent-loop trolley, as shown in the photograph. The Miani Silvestri car is 7.84 m in length, and carries
