has theprivilege of taking one stranger to the weekly meetings, and,by addressing a note to the housekeeper, of introducing hisfriends to examine the various models, machines, &c.;and it should be noticed, that the practice of requiringsuch models, upon the gift of every premium or bountyhas procured for the society the finest collection of itskind in Europe. Each member has, likewise, the use of avaluable library, and is entitled to the annual volume of theSocietys Transactions. The time appointed for admissionto the models, is from ten to two oclock, Sundays andWednesdays excepted. In the great room, 47 feet in length, 42 feet in breadth,by 40 feet in height, there is a series of very fine pictures, bythe late James Barry, intended, by that highly gifted buteccentric artist, to illustrate the maxim, That the At-tainment of Happiness, individual and public, depends onthe Cultivation of the Human Faculties.* They constituteone of the finest moral efforts of the ait ever produced.
