Summary

Pleated fan. Linen leaf painted with gouache. Design showing a central scene of a young man seated on a bench near a standing woman holding a long floral garland. A bird flies above them carrying a note in its beak. Altar of love at the left and a cartouche with trophies at right. Design outlined in silvered chain stitch. Embroidered with spangles. Gilt flourishes near the edges and gilt medallions on either side of the central scene. Sequins on trees and cartouche. Carved and gilded ivory sticks with silver and touches of red.
