Ascension de M. Poitevin au Champ-de-Mars, le 14 Juillet 1850

This print represents one of the attractions proposed to the public on the fourteenth of July. M. Poitevin and his horse flew over Paris in a hot air balloon. Poitevin later declared having seen Paris from so high, that the city looked like a map.
