1937 - Town Auto Company

description

Summary

At 635 Linden Street in 1937 was the Town Auto Company, which sold Chevrolets. The building was on the north side of Linden, from Church Street to the rear of the Penn Hotel. Owned by the Shadt brothers, the dealership provided full service to customers, selling new and used cars, parts and accessories. Town Auto went out of business in the late 1940s, and eventually the building was torn down. Today it is an Allentown Parking Authority lot and a Wells Fargo drive-thru bank
